Different from the Poppy, a small gap between each strip on the Pod allows just a peek at the light within. Designed by Burkhard Dämmer, Pod is available in medium size.
The Pod is appreciably unostentatious, having a fresh manner that smiles and illuminates its surroundings with an altruistic sense of cool. It is a pendant that works well discretely or as part of a striking cluster of Pod and Poppy lights.
LZF Lamps, founded in 1994 near Valencia by Mariví Calvo and Sandro Tothill, pioneered “enveloping light” in wood veneer. Today, the brand crafts sculptural, sustainable designs that blend artistry and warmth, celebrated worldwide.
German-born designer Burkhard Dämmer has a background in cabinetmaking and an education in industrial design. To Burkhard, the concept of design means finding good answers to new and old problems. He considers working with veneer and light a special challenge, and has created a number of handsome lights for LZF. As well as designs for LZF, Burkhard has worked with a range of companies in the fields of lighting, accessories, kitchenware, bathrooms and furniture. A widely published and award-winning designer, his numerous prizes include the German Design Award 2017 and Chicago Good Design Award 2015, for the Dandelion for LZF and European Product Design Award 2018, for the Cervantes.
