The droplet of light. Visualise the simple beauty of a stationary raindrop, a small and glistening droplet that instead of falling, remains in a state of suspended animation. While Tina couldn’t stand the rain against her window, the Raindrop pendant is a welcome sight. Javier Herrero imagined and designed the Raindrop pendant, its suspended shade made using strips of wood veneer that contain a glowing ball. Available in small and medium sizes, the Raindrop’s form is playful and poised. It is a light that will hang gracefully by itself and is especially pleasing and engaging when arranged in a group formation.

LZF is a story of people, wood and light and the result of a peculiar encounter between two strangers. When they met, they both loved their hands and what they were capable of doing with them. Both shared a passion for the arts, for ideas, and experimenting. They coincided in their way of living and their very distinct view of the world. With an absolute belief that everything you feel can be materialised, they began to experiment. Till one night, playing with some wood veneers, they managed to envelop light. LZF was born.
Valencia-born Javier Herrero spent a year at the Politecnico di Milano, where he studied with acclaimed designers Enzo Mari and Massimo Morozzi to complete his FPC. He graduated as an Industrial Design Engineer from the CEU Cardenal Herrera University in 2003, and subsequently read Fine Arts at the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia. Javier’s first design studio was named Ebualà, a venture he established in 2004 with three university colleagues. In 2009, Javier decided to go it alone and set up Javier Herrero* Studio. His work with leading companies is characterised by simplicity and an open-minded, creative approach that translates every project into a unique experience.
