The dramatic light. Agatha’s elegant whorls of wood veneer strips combine to form an appealing suspension lamp. Designed by Luis Eslava Studio, the lamps’s concentric layers create an intriguing shape, one that sets Agatha apart. Gazing at those elegant whorls, we might visualise Agatha as a wonderfully ageing thespian: a shining light. The Agatha Large suspension lamp will fill the space with its ambient glow. It is especially at home in roomy places with high ceilings. The Agatha Large is available in the following wood veneers: Ivory White, Natural Beech, Yellow, Orange, Grey, Pale Rose and Sea Blue. The canopy has a Matt Nickel finish.

LZF is a story of people, wood and light and the result of a peculiar encounter between two strangers. When they met, they both loved their hands and what they were capable of doing with them. Both shared a passion for the arts, for ideas, and experimenting. They coincided in their way of living and their very distinct view of the world. With an absolute belief that everything you feel can be materialised, they began to experiment. Till one night, playing with some wood veneers, they managed to envelop light. LZF was born.
Luis Eslava studied at London’s prestigious Royal College of Art, gained work experience at Spanish contemporary footwear brand Camper and spent time living in Japan. In 2008, he moved to Spain and established his eponymous studio in Barcelona. Luis approaches design from a comprehensive viewpoint, believing that a designer should be able to propose a wide range of solutions and rethink daily life. Luis Eslava Studio has developed its experience in lighting design through collaborations with various light manufacturers, including LZF for whom the studio designed the Agatha pendant and Paisley screen. In addition, the studio has vast experience in exhibition, food and product design.
