Collection of lamps with a blown and irregular striped glass diffuser. The three sizes of the spheres and the different cable heights are designed to create elegant compositions. The chandelier version allows to fix the diffusers with steel cables to the ceiling, creating different games. The Puppet collection by Vistosi expresses passion and artisan know-how. The undisputed focus is blown glass that is irregularly striped, an ancient manufacturing technique that has been known since Roman times and used for the manufacturing of Murano glass. Here, new magical forms come to life from the breath of master glassmakers. For Puppet, Romani Saccani Architetti Associati, former designer of the Diadema collection, has chosen the sphere, a symbol of perfection and union, a movement that has no beginning or end that remains immutable over time β much like the Puppet collection, which has become an icon of the Vistosi catalogue since its conception. The expressive research of Romani Saccani Architetti Associati is aimed at defining a strong, identifying sign that is conceptually simple, and therefore easily understandable. The result is a collection with a pure, immediate design, devoid of unnecessary frills. Puppet is available as a pendant light, wall light and table lamp. The suspension version includes spheres of three different sizes, and is made in different variants such as in the linear versions, in those with a round rosette or the chandelier. The latter allows diffusers to be fixed to the ceiling with steel cables as desired, creating ever-changing plays on light with the electric fabric cables that recall the wires that moved ancient puppets. The diffusers are available in four glass finishes (soft white, transparent crystal, smoke, and transparent amber) with the possibility of mixing them together. The metal frame comes in a polished chrome finish with electric cable in grey fabric, or matt black with electric cable in black fabric. The Puppet Ring collection, created in 2019, plays with spheres of different sizes, differing from the βclassicβ version for the use of a frame made up of rings of different sizes, single or juxtaposed, which form the base on which the precious glass spheres rest and blend with the structure with the shape blown into the glass itself. Three new configurations were added to the three suspensions already present: given their size, they are particularly suitable for large-scale environments. In the applique, a ring supports a larger sphere facing the ceiling and a smaller one facing the floor. Light and elegant, Puppet Ring combines crystal, smoked, amber and soft white glass in an ethereal manner, with gold and satin black nickel finishes.

It is rare for a company to be able to tell the stages of such a long history. In fact, Vistosi was born in the last millennium, almost six centuries ago in the cradle that gave birth to the most referenced glass masters in this now almost lost artisan art. Vistosi today is a 2.0 craft industry with one of the largest owned glass mills in Europe, an in-house research and development department, an workshop, and a network of established and qualified local suppliers. Definitely one of the few companies where the value chain is managed to guarantee constant product quality. In fact, if Made in Italy is still one of the most successful brands today, it is thanks to companies like Vistosi that have managed to innovate without penalising product quality.
Michele Romani and Mauro Saccani were both born in 1970 in Milan. They founded the design studio ROMANI SACCANI ASSOCIATED ARCHITECTS in 1999. They worked together on the proposal for the redevelopment and landscape enhancement of the historic settlement βThe Five Courts of Bernateβ in Arcore Municipality, which was awarded as a positive experience by the Lombardy Region in 2009. After having collaborated as freelancers with some architecture firms around Milan and having participated in several design and architecture competitions (in 1999 they won the 3rd prize in the competition for the renovation and expansion of the offices of the Municipality of Ornago with the projectβIl cubo e la piazzaβ) ,today they are increasingly oriented towards the product design sector. Their current projects include numerous collaborations with design companies in both the lighting sector and in the furniture/interior accessories sector. For Vistosi they have designed many successful collections: Diadema in 2005, both 24Pearls and Cloth in 2009, Novecento in 2013, Puppet in 2015, Cristallina in 2017 and Puppet Ring, the most recent in 2019. Each of their new concepts stems from a conscious reinterpretation of the past, becoming a blend between imagination and pragmatism, challenging the seriousness of standards and customs. The βsimplerβ the original idea, the more successful the project will be: therefore βsimpleβ, which never means trivial, is understood as the primary form of elegance and a rejection of excess and vulgarity, as a clean and pure ability to communicate an authentic message.
